I first noticed Stacy Haiduk in this interesting show called "Kindred: The Embraced". It was a tv show based on the vampire world developed in the Vampire: The Masquerade role-playing game.

I had never read much about Vampire: The Masquerade, but it seems to combine all of the different mythologies for vampires, so that they're all correct. The difference in the different mythologies is chalked up to different vampire clans. Some look like Nosferatu, and others are very Ann Rice or Bram Stoker based.

The show costars Stacy Haiduk as Lillie Langtry, the leader of the Toreador clan. The Toreador are a glamorous, rocker type clan. I think very reminiscent of Ann Rice.

In the show, Stacy Haiduk is always wearing these very nice evening gowns and she is definitely very sophisticated and glamorous. She did an excellent job at playing this character. She portrays the power and wisdom of an ancient vampire very well. So well, that I was sure that she was older than me by at least 5 years. She is stunningly gorgeous, and no obvious wrinkles, but I just put her in her thirties, but she was in her twenties like me.

It's when I found out that Stacy was from Michigan (my home sate) and about my age, when I really thought, hmmm. She apparently had studied dance (similarities to Madonna here). No wonder why she has a very nice wiry frame, very much like madonna.

Further research showed that she was married to Bradford Tatum, who played the "bad kid" in "Powder". Of course my dreams were shattered, but kudos to Brad.

Kindred was canceled after 8 episodes because the star, Mark Frankel, went and got himself run over by a lorrie while riding his harley. Mark unfortunately died from his injuries. Rest in peace, Mark. The show being canceled was very unfortunate, because I believe that it could have brought Stacy Haiduk from the B list to the A list.

Stacy Haiduk was also in "Superboy" as Lana Lang, a show which I actually watched some when I was a kid, but I had forgotten about it. She looked a lot different in this 1980ies show. I'm sure this had to do with being much younger, but also because 80ies hairstyles and clothing don't do anyone justice.

Stacy Haiduk was born April 24, 1968, almost exactly three years older than me. She is from Grand Rapids Michigan, but from what I can find, of course lives in the Los(t) Angeles area now.

Every once in a while, someone will add a TV appearance to Stacy's IMDB page, but she seems to be mostly just enjoying life. Maybe she's semi-retired, with enough money that she and Brad don't have to work. Or maybe she's not getting the work that she deserves. I wish her luck.

10/12/2006 - I was watching the second episode of the new NBC show "Heroes", and I was surprised to see Stacy playing some type of special agent. She looked great, and it oddly took me a couple of minutes to recognize her. I was thinking "Wow, she looks familiar." I was hoping that she would be a recurring character, but she wasn't in episode three. The agency was revealed as the FBI though.

9/19/2008 - Wow, here it is two years since I last saw Stacy on "Heroes", and I'm catching up on my televsion shows and see her on the fourth episode of season four of "Prison Break" as Lisa Tubac, a "card holder".

10/09/2008 - My brother had recommended the TV show "Life" to me, starring Damian Lewis from "Band of Brothers". I really didn't like it as much as my brother's fond memories made it sound like I might, but I noticed that Stacy Haiduk is in the second episode of this season as Dr. Lana James.

01/29/2009 - Just finished watching Season 2, episode 10 of "Burn Notice", which airs on the USA Network, and Stacy Haiduk had a decent sized part in the episode, parts of which were in a bikini. She was also in an action scene, and did some stunt fighting. I haven't seen that in awhile. Way to go.
